We’re going to explore some of the most iconic spots in La Boca. My family also lived and grew up here, which is why I want to show you not only its best-known places, but also the stories, anecdotes, and memories that are part of its identity.
During the tour, we’ll learn about the origins of La Boca and its connection to immigration, the port, art, and soccer. We’ll visit the historic Nicolás Avellaneda Ferry Bridge and the modern Nicolás Avellaneda Bridge, symbols of La Boca’s landscape and its connection to the Riachuelo.
We’ll walk along the famous Caminito “museum street,” where we’ll learn about the history of its colors and the importance of Benito Quinquela Martín, one of the neighborhood’s most iconic artists. We’ll also head to La Bombonera, the legendary home stadium of Boca Juniors, to discover the role soccer plays in the culture and daily life of La Boca.
My goal is for you to get to know the neighborhood beyond its postcard images: its stories, its people, and the identity hidden behind every corner. I invite you to explore my neighborhood—and my family’s neighborhood—with me, from the perspective of someone who grew up on its streets.
