Free Tour Carmona: Lucero of Europe

Join this tour of Carmona and travel through 5000 years of history. Discover why it is called the "Star of Europe" as you walk through its fortresses, walls and squares. Experience the magic and legends of one of the oldest jewels of Andalusia.

Discover one of Europe’s oldest cities with this free tour of Carmona, the “Morning Star of Europe,” and explore more than 5,000 years of history.

We’ll start at Plaza de San Fernando, the site of the ancient Roman forum and the historic heart of the city, to visit City Hall, the Palace of the Marquises of Las Torres (City Museum), the Palace of the Rueda family, and the Palace of the Aguilar family. We’ll admire the Priory of Santa María, known as the Cathedral of Carmona, the Monastery of Santa Clara, and the Convent of Las Descalzas.

We’ll stroll through the monumental Plaza de Abastos, a former convent converted into a market, and arrive at the Alcázar of King Don Pedro, now a Parador hotel, with its spectacular views of the Vega. We’ll discover palaces, stately homes, secret places right beneath our feet, and the history of the Carmo coin. We’ll also explore the local cuisine—including the famous “torta inglesa” and “alboronía”—and learn about the city’s main festivals.

We’ll end at the Puerta de Sevilla and the Church of San Pedro, with its curious “Giraldilla.”

All of this with an official tour guide, in small groups, with exclusive recommendations and a surprise gift.
