Free tour of the Historic Center and the San Diego Neighborhood

On this free tour, we'll explore Cartagena's historic center and the colorful San Diego neighborhood. We'll begin in Plaza de la Aduana, learning about the colonial era, maritime trade, and the role of the Old Customs House. From there, we'll walk to San Pedro Claver Square to admire the convent and discover stories of key historical figures.

We'll continue to Plaza de Bolívar, home to the Zenú Gold Museum and the Palace of the Inquisition, where darker episodes of the city’s past took place. Then we'll visit the Cathedral of Saint Catherine of Alexandria before heading to Proclamation Square and Santo Domingo Square, where Botero’s famous sculpture awaits.

Entering San Diego, we'll enjoy its vibrant streets, colonial houses, murals, and traditional atmosphere. We'll stop at San Diego Square and the iconic Hotel Santa Clara, linked to Gabriel García Márquez. Finally, we'll visit Las Bóvedas and end the tour with panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and the city walls.
