Real East End Free Tour: Brick Lane & Street Art Walk with Londoner

Explore the real East End with a born-and-bred Londoner! This authentic tour dives into Brick Lane’s street art, bagel shops, and Spitalfields Market. Discover how generations of immigrants built London’s most creative, flavorful corner.

No corner of London has been remade as often as the East End. For three centuries, waves of newcomers — Huguenot silk weavers, Irish dockers, Jewish refugees, Bangladeshi families — have poured into these streets and left their mark. The result is the city's most creative and flavourful quarter, the one I find most alive.

Starting at Liverpool Street station, we'll dive into Old Spitalfields Market, then stand beneath Christ Church Spitalfields, Hawksmoor's masterpiece.

We'll walk Fournier Street's grand silk-weavers' houses, then reach Brick Lane, the beating heart of it all. Here you'll find the curry houses of Banglatown, a 24-hour bagel shop that's fed the area for generations, the old Truman Brewery, and walls of ever-changing street art, Banksy and all. We'll trace the lanes of the Jack the Ripper legend, and finish among the murals and stalls.

You'll get the real London — the history, the food, the art and the human stories the guidebooks skip — from someone who actually grew up here, not from a script. This walk is pay-what-you-feel: come along, enjoy a couple of hours, and give whatever you think it was worth.
