Executions! Grave Robbers! The Great Fire! London Tour

Historic tour exploring the area of the City of London to the East of St Pauls Cathedral, London has 2000 years of history, and we find the hidden alleyways, buildings and talk about some of the people that have helped make that history.

The City is a maze of medieval streets, hidden alleys and peaceful churchyards together with historic buildings and monuments. We start at Trinity Gardens which has close links with the seas around the coasts including the monuments to the Merchant Navy and the buildings nearby. We learn about the life of Samuel Pepys who is famous for his diary of life in London before visiting a historic market and other buildings for tales of the past including the truth about Richard Whittington, Lord Mayor of London and his cat. Hear a ghostly story and the myth of the guilted grasshopper and the dragon. We see the buildings and learn about the work of the Livery Companies before finishing at the Monument to the great Fire of 1666.
