Free Tour Alcazaba and Roman Theatre of Malaga

Discover the secrets of the Alcazaba of Malaga! In this 90-minute tour (without tickets), we will explore its history, legends and the most spectacular views of the city, a fascinating journey into the Andalusian past!

Discover the oldest part of Málaga on a tour that connects two of its greatest treasures: the Roman Theater and the Alcazaba. An ideal way to understand the city’s history right where it all happened.

We’ll meet at the Tourist Information Office located next to the main entrance of the Alcazaba, right beside the Roman Theater. From there, we’ll head down to Málaga’s best-preserved Roman ruins to discover what life was like in the 1st century AD: we’ll stroll through the cavea and the theater’s original entrances and learn about its architecture, function, and importance in Roman society.

Then we’ll climb the slope of Mount Gibralfaro to the Alcazaba, the Muslim fortress that has overlooked the city for nearly a thousand years. Its walls, courtyards, and gardens transport us back to the Al-Andalus era and the atmosphere of the great Nasrid palaces.

The tour ends at the Alcazaba’s viewpoints, offering views of the harbor, the historic center, and the skyline of Málaga. A must-see to understand the city’s historic soul.

Duration: 90 minutes, in Spanish and English, with an official tour guide. Admission to the Alcazaba is not included.
