Free Tour of Oslo's Contrasts

Discover Oslo with our tour of contrasts. Explore the bohemian neighborhood of Grünerløkka, the multicultural area of Grønland, and the futuristic architecture of Bjørvika. An essential tour for getting to know the real city.

At the scheduled time, we’ll begin this free tour of the Norwegian capital’s contrasts next to the Oslo Opera House. From here, we’ll also admire the Barcode project in Bjørvika—a complex of buildings that resemble barcodes—and the imposing Munch Museum. Next, we’ll cross the spectacular Akrobaten pedestrian bridge. In just a few steps, you’ll notice the contrast: we’ll go from the city’s most modern and expensive district to areas with a more traditional character.

Afterward, we’ll head into Grønland, the multicultural heart of the city. This neighborhood is one of the oldest parts of the city; today, it’s filled with spice markets, exotic fruits, and international shops that reflect Oslo’s diverse character.

Next, we’ll explore the Grünerløkka neighborhood, the bohemian soul of the Norwegian capital. Once a working-class neighborhood filled with textile factories, it’s now Oslo’s most alternative district. We’ll stroll along the banks of the Akerselva River while observing how old industrial warehouses have been transformed into art galleries, vintage shops, and flea markets.

Finally, we’ll arrive at BLÅ, a jazz and indie music club.
