The Commune: It's Your Turn to Vote - A Game-Based Tour of Montmartre
♡ Save

Discover Montmartre through an immersive scavenger hunt dedicated to the Paris Commune of 1871. Work as a team to answer quiz questions and cast votes just like the members of the Commune Council, from the Paris headquarters to Place Blanche.
In 1871, for 72 days, Paris governed itself: this was the Paris Commune, a revolution that began on Montmartre Hill. This interactive tour lets you relive it right where it happened—and you’re the ones who decide.
Working in teams and using voting cards, you’ll answer a quiz at each stop. Then you’ll step into the shoes of the Commune’s Council as it faces a real dilemma from 1871: Should rents be waived? Should the Church and State be separated? Should women be granted rights? You debate, you vote, and then you discover what the Commune actually decided.
The route follows the course of history: Place Saint-Pierre and the siege of Paris, the forecourt of Sacré-Cœur where it all began on March 18, 1871, Rue du Chevalier-de-La-Barre, Place Jean-Baptiste-Clément, Rue Lepic, Place des Abbesses, and then Place Blanche with the women of the Commune and the Bloody Week. You’ll encounter Louise Michel, Gambetta, and Clemenceau.
