Paris Essentials Free Tour: The Must-See Sights of the Capital

Experience the French Revolution on a captivating walking tour through Paris. Walk historic streets with an expert local guide to discover dramatic stories, fateful execution sites, and key turning points.

Welcome to this ‘Essential Paris’ tour!

During this walk, we’ll set out to discover some of Paris’s most iconic landmarks, whilst taking the time to understand how the capital was built and how its history has shaped the city we know today.

The aim of this tour is simple: to see Paris’s must-see sights without feeling as though you’re sitting through a history lesson.

We’ll walk from monument to monument, weaving together major historical events, anecdotes, famous figures and little-known stories of the streets.

This tour is designed as an introductory exploration of Paris. Above all, I don’t want this tour to be a mere succession of dates and monuments.

I’ll adapt the tour to suit the group. The idea is to let you discover Paris whilst having a good time, with plenty of time to ask questions, take photos and soak up the atmosphere of the capital.

We’ll start on the Île de la Cité, then pass by Notre-Dame, the Sainte-Chapelle, the Pont-Neuf, followed by the Palais-Royal, the Louvre, the Tuileries Gardens and finally the Place de la Concorde.
