Free Tour with an Authorized Guide from Pisa Romanica

History, legend, and poetry of Romanesque Pisa—a city that evolved from a pirate hideout into a maritime republic and built its wealth and fame on the plundering of Palermo. In Piazza dei Miracoli, we’ll follow the path the Pisans took to be baptized, where they prayed, and finally where they were buried; we’ll admire the Prato dei Miracoli with its world-famous monuments, and as we stroll toward the historic center, we’ll walk to Piazza dei Cavalieri and conclude our tour by passing through Piazza delle Vettovaglie, looking out over the Arno riverbanks to see Palazzo Blu and the Chiesa della Spina across the river.

We’ll take a look at the exterior of the Duomo, the Baptistery, the Leaning Tower, and the Monumental Cemetery. In Piazza dei Cavalieri, we’ll view the exteriors of the buildings.
