From there we enter the Plaza Mayor, the heart of Salamanca, one of the most beautiful baroque squares in Spain, full of life and history. We walk towards the Casa de las Conchas, a unique building decorated with more than 300 shells, symbol of the order of Santiago, and next to it we contemplate the imposing Clerecía and the Pontifical University, a baroque jewel with impressive towers.
We continue to the University of Salamanca, the oldest in Spain, famous for its plateresque facade and the frog that hides among its decoration, emblem of the city and symbol of good luck. Then we visit the Old Cathedral, with its magnificent Gothic altarpiece that preserves the medieval spirit. We finish in the New Cathedral, of late Gothic and Renaissance style, where we discover its surprising modern details, such as the astronaut carved on its façade.
