Vienna Like a Local: Hidden Gems Free Walking Tour
♡ Save

Discover the real Vienna on this free walking tour made for true travelers. Explore hidden gems, vibrant local life, and cozy neighborhoods like Spittelberg, Palais Auersperg, and Piaristenkirche. Guided daily in EN, ES, IT, and DE!
Most Vienna tours stay inside the tourist postcard. This one doesn’t.
This tour takes you into the neighborhoods where Viennese actually eat, drink, and live. You will see baroque churches that are practically empty, Biedermeier lanes that tourists never find, and the political history that shaped modern Austria.
The route covers roughly 3 km on mostly flat ground.
Highlights: Spittelberg (the finest Biedermeier quarter in the city), the Piaristenkirche (frescoes by Maulbertsch), Justizpalast and the July Revolt of 1927, the 7th District's independent cafés and shops, and Lange Gasse at its most photogenic.
The tour is free to join. You tip your guide on what the experience was worth to you at the end. Group size is capped so you can always hear your guide. Tours run daily in English, Spanish, Italian, and German. We start at Maria-Theresien-Platz, next to the Maria Theresa statue between the two museums.
